Dermal Fillers provide an instant result that will significantly reduce or even completely smooth out wrinkles. Tiny amounts of these clear natural gels are injected with a very fine needle into the skin, which plumps it up makes it firmer and smoothes out lines, folds and wrinkles. The Consultation

 

A full medical history is taken during the consultation and the treatment explained fully. Amanda will advise you which dermal filler is suitable for your face and discuss the exact requirements of your treatment. A dermal filler is an extremely effective treatment for smoothing out nose to mouth lines or lifting the corners of the mouth for example and results are instant. However, there are lots of things to consider all of which Amanda will discuss with you. Understanding the ageing process and why certain lines and wrinkles appear is really important. 

Amanda will explain the 'triangle of youth' to you, which is how we all start off in life when we are young with nice plump cheeks. As we age we lose the volume in our cheeks and it starts to sink down causing the lines from the nose to mouth and down-turned droopy mouths. All the volume once in our cheeks ends up in our jowls. In other words, the triangle of youth has flipped around the other way and is now sitting with all the volume once at the top of our face, now at the bottom of our face.

Although we can fill lines around the nose and mouth extremely effectively - and this is often a recommended first treatment - if you continue to focus on filling these lines, not only are you adding even more volume to this area, you are not treating the root cause of the ageing and will never achieve a really youthful look. The answer lies in replacing the lost volume into the cheeks. This achieves lift as well as volume which makes people appear refreshed and more youthful. It treats the tired sunken look and makes you look younger. It needs to be done subtly as too much spoils the look. In addition to this, fine threads of dermal filler are placed in the lower third of the face to actually pull back and lift sagging skin and further support the cheeks above, providing firmer skin, tightening the jawline and creating a 'thread lift'.

The Results

There may be slight redness immediately after treatment that will resolve within a few hours. Amanda can apply some medical grade mineral makeup following treatment for you to go home in or back to work.The cosmetic effects are visible instantly.
